Hemptella-chocc’d Strawberries:

Aptly named ‘Hemptella’ this was an accidental creation - it’s quite rare that I’ll make something that imitates something sweet as it doesn’t really interest me …. however nutella well, what’s not to love - sweet, hazel-nutty, chocolate-y goodness. Let’s face it though, the original version is jacked to the freakin’ eyeballs with sugar and after the initial buzz where’s off you will be left in a food coma of sugar-dumped-death. So here’s my version that will do the absolute complete opposite. Hemptella is jam packed with kick-arse fats and plant based proteins to ensure you get the energy you need and deserve from snacking.

What you’ll need:

2 x cups of Hempseeds

2 tbsp raw cocoa

2-3 tbsp Honey/ 100% maple syrup

4 tbsp Raw hazelnut Butter  {blitzed hazelnuts with a bit of vanilla extract}

1/2 Cup coconut milk

1   punnet of strawberries - halved

***Peanut Butter is fine if you seriously CBF’d making hazelnut butter - but it will taste a bit different

What to do:

Place all of the ingredients {apart from the strawberries} into a large mixing bowl. Using a spatula / wooden spoon mix all the ingredients thoroughly until they form a paste. If you want to do this in a food processor the mixture will become a lot smoother and more ‘nutella’ like. I personally like the texture of the hemp seeds so I use the bowl and mix by hand, it’s honestly up to you what you’d prefer. I do recommend test tasting this for the sweetness factor and adding more maple / honey if desired.

Spoon the mixture onto the strawberry halves and/or make little strawberry-hemptella sandwiches with them. This is a great mid-afternoon or morning snack and is a good one for after-school with the kiddies. The hemptella also is amazing stuffed into majool dates… just sayin’.

Enjoy! x
